Kaiser FotoTechnik is one of those companies that I knew existed but have never bought any of its products. But I recently acquired an old Kaiser catalogue and it makes absolutely fascinating reading. Two hundred and fifty odd pages of all sorts of stuff for photographers ranging from filters to scanning backs via lighting systems, copy stands to darkroom gear.
Kaiser has its feet firmly both analogue and digital photography, so perusing its latest catalogue on-line is even more interesting than the back issue. The Darkroom section, for example, runs 37 pages (downloadable in PDF form) and lists at least 12 different model enlargers, and just about everything needed for darkroom work right down to a lab apron.
More interesting perhaps, Kaiser also list a great many products for other aspects of analogue work such as slide cutters and mounters, labelling pens, negative filing sheets and slide sleeves. All sorts of items that have seem to have disappeared from the shops. If you are looking for hard to get items Kaiser’s web site is a good place to start.
